24 hours of Daytona 2019: race results

This new edition of the legendary American career of the 24 hours of Daytona , a race of resistance where not only matters the speed, also the reliability. This event is sponsored by Rolex and with the telemetry and timing technology of the Spanish company Alkamel Systems, with which we had the pleasure to talk a while ago exclusively for this blog. In this edition, 4 Spaniards participated, as we have commented, among them Fernando Alonso, Miguel Molina, and Antonio García.

They are with the Cadillac DPi, Ferrari GT, Covette GT , respectively. The Acura and, especially the Mazda were the fastest and not so harmed by the regulations to match the things they usually do in this type of endurance racing. The car of Fernando Alonso, Cadillac # 10 , was badly damaged in qualifying, but they trusted in good reliability and in making a good strategy and perfect race relays to qualify for the first places.

The pace of Taylor and Alonso has been especially fast . The Spaniard, who only has the experience of the last edition for the team of Zak Brown, has shown the pilot of the size that is, and has climbed the Cadillac to lead much of the race. The differences that have been made with respect to the second have been very high, but the groupings by accidents have made those distances of 30 or more seconds disappear and all were very close and with options for victory.

The rain has appeared but very strong in this appointment, which has made the pilots have to work more to be fast and have no incidents. Alonso has been quick in wet and dry, the truth is that you have to take off your hat before his performance. Without a clear favorite, and all very righteous until the last second almost any of the DPi could win ...
